First-Time Pairing

  • Take your AirPods case and open it cap.
  • Locate the circular button that sits on the charging case’s rear portion. Press and hold that button for a few seconds.
  • Look at the light located inside the case. If it blinks white, you need to release that circular button.
  • Turn your Windows computer and go to the “Settings” app. Use “WIN + I” for a quick access to the app.
  • Find ‘Devices’ and then find “Bluetooth”.
  • From there, you need to select “Add Bluetooth or other devices”.
  • A mini window should pop up by then. If it does, you have to select “Bluetooth”. Now, you’ll see a list of Bluetooth devices that are available.
  • Locate your AirPods and select it from there.

After all these are done correctly, the computer should take only a second or two to pair and connect automatically with your AirPods. Thus, you can connect your Airpods.

How Can You Reconnect the AirPods?

The good thing about these gadgets is that they get automatically connected once they’re paired with a computer. It means you may not need to worry about the devices that are already paired.

However, you may sometimes need to connect it to your smartphone / tablet or changes may occur to the list of paired devices on your computer. Either way, you may lose the paired connection and will need to establish one manually. Well, it’s easy and takes only a few seconds.

  • Turn your computer on and go to the “Settings” app.
  • Go to the “Devices” and locate “Bluetooth” from there.
  • Select your AirPods under the “Audio” section.
  • Select the “Connect” button.
  • The connection should be established by now.

What If Your Computer Doesn’t Have Bluetooth?

Not all computers feature Bluetooth capabilities. If yours is one of them, don’t just throw away your AirPods because there’s a low-cost solution to this problem. You can always purchase a USB Bluetooth dongle and use it to connect the AirPods.

It’s even more interesting to know that the dongle comes at a very low price but supports other accessories. So, buying a new pair of headphones won’t be necessary.

What If You Are Having a Synchronization Problem?

Not every user enjoys seamless connection between a Windows computer and Apple AirPods. Synchronization issues between the two aren’t rare. So, follow the steps with care when you discover that your favorite AirPods isn’t working any longer on the PC.

Start by disable Bluetooth on all other devices. For example, you might have paired the AirPods with an iPhone. Such a connection may cause unwanted interference, meaning that the connection between your AirPods and PC may be hindered. Switch off Bluetooth on other smart devices for only a temporary period.

Here’s another fix you may. Open the AirPods’ charging case lid. When the lid gets opened and the light gets green, it usually means that the AirPods has been connected to another device. Open the lid only for a few seconds prior to removing your AirPods and using them.

Still not working? A few more steps can be useful.

  • Open a music app like Spotify on the PC.
  • Start playing music.
  • Close the lid after putting the AirPods back in the charging case. Hold on for a few seconds.
  • Go to the “Action Center”. Go to “All Settings”.
  • Find “Devices” in the Windows Settings.
  • Try to find the AirPods among the paired devices.
  • Open the lid again and remove your AirPods. Then, put them in your ears.
  • Select AirPods from the list of devices. Select “Connect”.

This way, your AirPods are likely to connect without a problem, and you are like to enjoy the audio output through them.
